Welcome to the DefiLlama Newsletter. This week we bring you a massive upgrade for the deepest onchain yields dataset on the planet.
Verified Yields: What do you actually earn?
Ever deposit into a pool and think “why am I earning less than the stated APY?”
Most yields dashboards show you a general estimate of what a pool might yield.
They don’t show you:
How much yield holders actually receive
Whether you can exit the pool
How fast
What it costs
How much you could withdraw right now
We verify all of this. Every day.
260+ pools from 47 protocols across 12 chains. $99B of tracked TVL is now Verified - including historical yields going back to May 2022.
What am I actually earning in yield?
Verified APY: What real holders received upon withdrawal
Every day we simulate a real holder withdrawing from each measured pool onchain and record what they actually received.
Each pool separates Verified Base rates from Reward rates - instantly we see this pool offers 2.7% more than the USDG median rate, how APY is calculated, how long it takes to exit the pool, and a 30d Stability rate.
Below it we can accurately simulate how much growth a depositor would have experienced over different time frames.
The sUSDS pool, for example, shows a $10k deposit grew to $10,679 over 571 days. Click anywhere on the growth chart to update figures and match any deposit date.

Broader deposit activity indicates this pool can clear a $28m outflow today, and a $24.5m position can clear 90% of days.
Holder distribution shows the top to depositors make up about 78% of the pool. There are 6,137 holders, 179 new deposits have been made over the last 30d, and the average position size is $758k.
Could a pool support my position size?
You’re evaluating a $1 million allocation. Alongside the return, you want to know how often that position would have exceeded the pool’s measured withdrawal capacity.
Walk through four simple steps:
Inspect deposits versus withdrawable liquidity over the available history. To do this, use:
Verified Exit Status: Whether a real holder can actually withdraw
Imagine your deposit getting stuck right at the moment you need it most. Nightmare fuel.
We calculate Exit Status daily by finding real holders, simulating their withdrawal at a fixed daily block, and recording what came out. If there’s a delay, it’s obvious.
Instant exits mean any exit up to the pool’s liquidity limit could be withdrawn today.
Partial exits indicate only a % of the pool could be withdrawn at any given time.
The Aave Ethereum WETH pool has over $5b in deposits, but only $707m is withdrawable now. Let’s see how easy it would be to withdraw $1m after a deposit.

Change the position size to $1 million and view the historical shortfalls.
Zoom into a constrained day and read the incident: withdrawable dollars, percentage of deposits, and withdrawal outcome.
We see here the current issue is crowding. For 15 days this year, only a fraction of deposits would have been able to exit.
There was no liquidity for several days in April. Withdrawals were reverted.
Today, the largest holder of the pool could exit, but the top 10 combined could not.
Check holder concentration for context about how large existing positions compare with available capacity.
On a pool this large, with 84% utilization, if several large holders want to exit, your withdrawal may not make the queue.
We expect to verify thousands of pools in the coming weeks. Pro subscribers can use this data, download it and use LlamaAI to conduct deep analysis across pools and strategies. Unlock Verified Yields data with a free 7 day Pro trial.

New Rewards Programs Added
We added new points programs, trading rewards and referral programs to the Rewards dashboard. It’s a curated directory of 150+ rewards programs highlighting where the best programs are and how they work.
If a protocol announces a rewards program for users, it gets added:
Trading competitions with large prize pools
Protocols paying users activity rewards
Who’s offering trading rebates or cashback
Affiliate programs for those with large audiences
Points programs broken down by season
There are currently 88 live Points programs and 14 that are between seasons. 26 protocols are offering trading fee discounts.
Filter by the reward type you’re looking for and hit “Open” to follow that link.
Sort by most recent to find the newest programs, and hit the dropdown on each protocol to get the rewards details for invited users and users who invite others.
More are added daily - bookmark the dashboard and check back daily to see new additions.
For protocols looking to showcase a program: do that here.
DefiLlama may earn referral rewards for some of these programs.

Bitcoin spent the first eighteen days of August going nowhere, trading between $62,000 and $66,000. On August 19 it broke out, and by the 25th it had touched roughly $81,500. That's close to 27% from the breakout base, one of the sharpest weeks in the past five years.
Argentina had roughly 8.6 million crypto users as of 2024, representing around 20% of the population. Of those, 12.5% are active on a monthly basis, significantly higher than any other country in Latin America. Volumes speak for themselves: more than $91 billion in value moved.
